The Goddess “Durga”, is known as the fierce and protective mother of the universe. She represents divine female energy, (Shakti)- and the triumph of good over evil. - Her name means a fort, or a place hard to reach.

This piece shifted from a study of the "Goddess “Pele”, to an incarnation of “Durga”. - It began in New Jersey and was expanded upon, during my trip to Hilo, on “The Big Island” of Hawaii.
